What is a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are university trained primarily health care providers who are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.
What do I need to bring?
Please dress accordingly so that your healthcare provider can access the areas which need to be assessed and treated. If possible, please also bring aa copy of any relevant diagnostic testing reports (x-ray, MRI and etc.) and/or medication that you are taking.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments required will vary depending on the problem and the individual. After your healthcare provider conducts a thorough physical examination, they will discuss a treatment plan for the rehabilitation process with you.
What should I wear to my appointment?
You should be dressed so that your health care provider can access the areas which need to be assessed and treated. For example, if youare coming in for a knee injury, a pair of shorts will be required.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
All of our licensed professionals are primary health care providers and do not require a doctor's note for assessment and treatment. However, depending on your insurance company and plan (if applicable), you may require a doctor's requisition in order to be reimbursed for the services.
The duration of treatment will vary from patient to patient. Factors such as your diagnosis, age, severity of your impairments, past medical history and work-related environment may affect your response to therapy. We will constantly review your progress in therapy and re-evaluate your treatment plan if necessary to help you achieve your therapy goals.

Extended health care insurance plans may cover a part of, or even the entire cost of your treatment. We recommend that you confirm your insurance coverage or you may ask our front desk to assist you in doing so.
We may directly bill your insurance company if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident or a WSIB claim. Most insurance plans under Great West Life, Blue Cross, Chambers of Commerce Group, Industrial Alliance, Desjardins, Johnson, Manulife, Maximum Benefit of Johnston Group, Standard Life and Sun Life allow for direct billing, although there are exceptions to each insurance company. Each company also varies with regards to the specific services which can be submitted on your behalf. Physiotherapy, Chiropractic and Massage Therapy is directly billable for most the above-stated insurance companies.
