What is a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists are university-educated primary health care professionals who diagnose and treat patients with physical impairments and injuries. Physiotherapists will use their knowledge of the human body to determine the cause of your symptoms, and customize an appropriate treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Will Physiotherapy help me?

If you are suffering from any physical pain or impairment, you will likely benefit from physiotherapy. Our physiotherapists will perform a detailed assessment on the initial visit to determine the cause of your impairment and identify the anatomical structures involved. This process will involve documentation of your medical health history, current subjective history and undertaking a comprehensive physical examination.

How does Physiotherapy treatment work?

Based on your initial assessment, our physiotherapists will develop a personalized treatment program for you. Your treatment may be a combination of any of the following options:
manual therapy
laser therapy
postural education
ergonomics advice
gait training
exercise program
orthotics, splints and bracing

What sort of conditions do you treat?

The following is a list of commonly encountered conditions by our Physiotherapists. Please note that list is not exhaustive.
back and neck pain
sports injuries
repetitive strain injuries
whiplash-associated disorders
postural dysfunction
arthritis and degenerative joints
work-related injuries
everyday sprain and strain

Hello Everyone, due to the recent spread of the Covid-19 in the GTA we have decided to temporarily close Physiofit Health and Rehab for at least 2 weeks. We take the safety of our patients and staff very seriously and believe this is the best move to help stop the spread of this virus within our community. We thank you for your support during these difficult times and hope we can still assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. We will do our best to contact clients who are in the middle of treatment plans to see if we can provide remote education, exercise prescriptions and recommendations to help you continue your path to recovery. Please contact us VIA email or phone if you need any assistance.
