What is a Naturopath?
A Naturopath is a healthcare practitioner who focuses on holistic and natural medicine in order to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases. They may employ modalities such as homeopathy, herbal therapy, acupuncture and advise patients on diet and lifestyle changes. Naturopathic practitioners employ natural remedies as much as possible to minimize the risks and side effects to patients. They may also make suggestions to changes to one's lifestyle, and encourage patients to utilize their body's own regenerative abilities to restore optimal health.
What can naturopathy help with?
Naturopathy can be used to treat both acute and chronic diseases. Commonly treated conditions include high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes, digestive system ailments, osteoarthritis, headaches and migraines. Naturopathic medicine has also been found to be effective in management of allergies, women's health conditions (menopause, PMS, hot flahses) and respiratory conditions.
